How Do We Turn Off the Tap: Ending the Sale of Hazardous Products with No End-of-Life Plan
In the US, products are brought to market without any consideration for how they must be handled at the end of its useful life. And now, an increasing proportion of products sold are considered hazardous, leading to costly end-of-life (EOL) management systems and increased exposure to workers from the dangers of improper disposal. We must change our hazardous product management system from one that is reactive to proactive and stem the tide of new products entering the marketplace without EOL plans.
