Advocacy Committee

The Advocacy Committee is dedicated to supporting our chapters, local governments and other stakeholders in the advancement of policy-related efforts that work to promote responsible management of hazardous wastes.

Meeting Schedule: Meets virtually on the second Thursday of each month at 10:00 am Mountain Time

Communications Committee

Responsible for the preparation of a bi-monthly newsletter, social media engagement, discussion group, maintenance of the NAHMMA website, press releases, and maintaining a list of media contacts.

Meeting Schedule: Meets virtually on the third Monday each month at 12:00 p.m. MDT

Conference Planning Committee

Responsible for assisting and guiding the Conference Planning Committee in all aspects of the conference planning process, including the location, contracts, and support services. Committee members are a resource to the Conference Planning Committee and Host Chapter.

Subcommittees work on the technical program, reviewing papers and notifying speakers of their acceptance

Executive Committee

Responsible for overseeing contractual employees and other personnel matters. The committee sets policies, reviews financial data, and  recommends allocations. The committee includes the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and one At-Large member. 

Meeting Schedule: Meets virtually on the third Tuesday each month at 9:30 a.m. MDT

Chapters & Membership Committee

Responsible for organization membership growth, maintenance of the membership roster and chapter leadership roster, relaying of information between Chapter Leadership and the National Board of Directors.

Meeting Schedule: Meets virtually on the third Thursday each month at 10:30 a.m. CDT

Training Committee

Responsible for developing and delivering in-person and virtual trainings for NAHMMA members and other professionals with a focus on household hazardous materials, health/safety, and regulatory compliance.

Meeting Schedule: Meets monthly. Additional meetings held leading up to conference training events.

Affiliations Committee

Responsible for developing affiliations with selected, progressive organizations, which benefit HHW/VSQG professionals and support and advance our profession. The committee also coordinates international partners.
