2007 Northwest Hazardous Waste Conference
(June 4-7, 2007)

  • The Northwest Chapter of the North American Hazardous Materials Management Association (NAHMMA) is once again hosting this year's Northwest Hazardous Waste Conference for Household and Small Business Programs from June 4-7, 2007. This year's workshop will be full of the excellent sessions, trainings, and tours that you have come to expect, but this year we'll have some new twists! As you may have heard, we're hosting the first Northwest Chemicals Policy Symposium and Work Session on June 4th and will be including tours of organic Oregon wineries prior to the conference. We're also offering a half-day training titled "Chemistry Meets Reality" for the first time, which had been very popular with fire fighters and hazardous waste staff in the Seattle area.

Much of this material is equally applicable to collection events. This course combines multi-media lecture, hands-on exercises, and a field visit to an operating collection facility.
  • Does your company export to the European Union? Do you supply chains that include chemicals? This course addresses the new chemical regulations that are likely to be adopted in 2007.

2006 Complying with New European Chemical Regulations
(Sept. 15, 2006)

  • This year the first day was devoted to interactive sessions. They were less formal than the traditional PowerPoint presentations that we often used in order to engender more interaction and discussion about common topics of interest to our profession and your programs. People came prepared to kick-off discussions after the tops item was introduced in an interactive group setting.
