The North America Hazardous Materials Management Association (NAHMMA) is a non-profit, membership-based association of individuals, businesses, government , academia, and non-profits dedicated to pollution prevention and reducing the hazardous components entering municipal waste streams from households, small businesses and others. NAHMMA provides annual conferences all over the country. There are several chapters of NAHMMA including the Northeast Chapter. Join NAHMMA to access its many resources including relevant, timely webinars. Please join to build our HHW community.
The Northeast Chapter is pleased to offer a conference to enhance the education of HHW Coordinators and Facility Managers. Please join us for this regional conference. Learn about:
- Problem wastes, what they are, and what to do with them
- A program for educating the public to purchase less toxic products, and how you can use it
- Measuring HHW success
- Increasing HHW participant rates and how to change behavior
- Working with schools to reduce their toxic chemicals (these chemicals are brought to our collections whether we are aware of it or not)
Light breakfast (bagels, muffins, fruit), registration, and networking are from 8:45 - 9:30 AM. Breakfast and lunch are included in your $75 fee.

There are 5 municipal lots in Newburyport: Green and Merrimac Streets, State and Harris Streets, Waterfront Trust Lot and the 2 waterfront parking lots. The fee to park from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. in these lots is .50 cents per hour. There are pay and display kiosks in each of these lots. You may also park in legal spots on the street, but there may be time limits. If you park in a nearby neighborhood, please be respectful of residents and all parking restrictions. Do not block fire hydrants or driveways. Police will ticket and tow cars which are parked in illegal spaces. Hotels are available in and around Newburyport. Less expensive hotels may be found outside Newburyport, for example in Seabrook, NH which is a 15 minute drive to Newburyport, MA.
